Stage 1 remapping
An ECU remap changes the software that controls the engine. Stage 1 generally refers to tuning a vehicle with its standard hardware. The options depend on the engine, ECU and condition of the vehicle, rather than the badge on the boot alone.
We discuss the response and torque delivery you are looking for before agreeing the work. A car used every day may have different requirements from one with further modifications planned. There is no single power increase that applies to every vehicle.
Stage 2 and Stage 3 tuning
For modified vehicles, the software needs to account for the hardware fitted. Tell us what has already been changed, along with any existing tune, so we can assess the next step.
Stage 3 work requires suitable data logs. We will discuss the information needed before booking. Stage labels are a starting point for the conversation, not a promise that a particular calibration is right for every car.
Existing tunes and vehicle faults
If the car has already been mapped, mention this when you call. Tune checks are available if you are unsure what has been done or want advice before making further changes.
Tell us about warning lights, running problems or recent repairs. A remap should not be used to work around an unresolved fault. Diagnostics may be the appropriate first appointment.

Combined ECU and gearbox tuning is available for compatible vehicles, including Stage 1 and Stage 2 packages. Gearbox software is a separate part of the job; we check what is supported before quoting.
