What gearbox tuning changes
Gearbox tuning is also called TCU tuning or transmission remapping. It changes the software controlling a supported automatic transmission. Depending on the gearbox and calibration, this can alter shift behaviour and how the transmission manages engine torque.
The available changes vary between gearboxes. Explain what you notice in normal driving and what you want to improve, rather than choosing a tune from a general list of features.
DSG and automatic gearbox enquiries
If you are enquiring about a DSG remap, give us the vehicle details first. DSG describes a family of gearboxes; it does not confirm that a particular unit and software version can be tuned.
The same applies to other automatic transmissions. We check compatibility before accepting the job. If you do not know which gearbox is fitted, start with your registration, make and model.
Matching the engine and gearbox work
If you are planning an engine remap, discuss the gearbox at the same time. Combined ECU and gearbox packages are available on compatible vehicles, with Stage 1 and Stage 2 options.
